The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced the identification of 17 highway projects totalling 1,692 kilometres across nine states for monetisation in the financial year 2026-27. According to an official statement released on May 28, 2026, these projects have been selected based on their established traffic potential and robust connectivity significance, positioning them as key economic and logistics corridors.
The identified stretches are spread across Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra. The monetisation strategy will utilise the Toll-Operate-Transfer (TOT) model and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) as the primary routes for financial realisation. Notably, these projects do not include those earmarked for monetisation through the Raajmarg Infra Investment Trust (RIIT) for the fiscal year 2026-27.
