Vijayawada, May 26 2026 – A severe heatwave sweeping across Andhra Pradesh has triggered a livestock health crisis, with poultry farmers reporting heavy losses as temperatures soar beyond 45°C. Veterinary teams and district animal husbandry officials are conducting emergency village visits to educate farmers on heat-stress mitigation after thousands of birds died in recent days across NTR, Eluru, West Godavari, Krishna and other districts.
