Sri Sathya Sai district police on Thursday produced four accused in a cricket betting case before the media after a raid in Madakasira town the previous day. The operation, conducted near the Junior College Grounds, led to the seizure of ₹7.2 lakh in cash and two mobile phones, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Satish Kumar. The raid was carried out jointly by the Madakasira Urban and Rural police, supervised by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Penukonda) Narasingappa, as part of a district-wide drive against gambling and betting activities.
The four individuals arrested in connection with the case are R. Satish Kumar (49), N. Devaraju (44), Jabbal Irfan (40), and M. Sudheer Reddy (40). All four have been identified as the alleged organisers of cricket betting operations in the area. A formal case has been registered against them under Section 9(1) of the Andhra Pradesh Gaming Act at the Madakasira UPS police station, marking the legal initiation of proceedings against the accused.
