A sudden health scare gripped Nagpur after a wedding procession from Saunsar in Madhya Pradesh’s Seoni district stopped for a meal. Within moments of tasting dahi-bade and gulab jamun, more than 100 guests and family members began vomiting, suffering diarrhoea and complaining of severe stomach pain. Local authorities and the health department swung into action as soon as the incident came to light.
According to local media reports, the meal was served at a local hotel or restaurant. Investigators have yet to confirm whether adulterated ingredients or spoiled food was to blame, but preliminary checks have revealed that the milk and other materials used in preparation were of questionable quality. Health officials have collected samples from the affected guests and are awaiting laboratory results.
