New Delhi, May 28: Karnataka’s incoming Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Tuesday publicly acknowledged the Gandhi family for playing a pivotal role in his political evolution, describing their support as transformative and inspiring. In a reflective post on X, he said their leadership had shaped his public life and promised to govern with sincerity, inclusivity and progress once sworn in the next day.
Speaking of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Shivakumar recalled how the late leader recognised his potential while he was still a young party worker. “I often reflect on Shri Rajiv Gandhi avaru, who saw potential in a young worker even before I could see it in myself. His encouragement gave me the confidence to dream bigger and dedicate myself to public service,” he wrote. He described Rajiv Gandhi as a leader who inspired people to rise beyond their own expectations.
