Crime in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow continues to rise. The latest incident involves the murder of Shivam Singh, a member of the BJP Yuva Morcha, who was beaten to death outside the Jalwa Club in Vibhuti Khand police station area. The incident took place at around 3 am on May 26, when Shivam Singh was leaving the club with his friends. Three unidentified young men asked him for a cigarette, which he gave once before refusing. Enraged, the trio assaulted him and fled.
Shivam Singh then called his acquaintance, Ashish, to inform him about the incident. Ashish advised him to return home. Shivam Singh and his friends then left in a Verna car. En route, near the LPS School on Kathauta Lake Road, the same three bike-borne attackers returned. They began pelting stones at the car, forcing it to stop. When Shivam Singh stepped out, the attackers brutally struck his head with bricks and stones. Bleeding profusely, he collapsed on the road.
