Political tensions have resurfaced in Maharashtra between the BJP and Shiv Sena over the distribution of seats. According to sources, disagreements have emerged between the two parties regarding the allocation of seats for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. However, a high-level meeting will soon be held in Delhi, where leaders from both parties will attempt to resolve the dispute.
Previously, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) had formed a coalition government with the BJP in Maharashtra, but relations between the two parties have recently soured. The dispute over seat-sharing has further strained their ties. Shiv Sena leaders have repeatedly alleged that the BJP is not treating them fairly and is not allocating them sufficient seats.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders have outrightly rejected these claims, stating that all decisions in the alliance were made with mutual consent and that the seat-sharing was also agreed upon on the same basis. BJP national president J.P. Nadda recently stated that the party is committed to strengthening the alliance and that a positive outcome on this issue will emerge soon.
