Sewerage pipeline laying work that has been ongoing in various parts of Bengaluru for the past few months has now been completed, leaving the roads in these areas completely damaged. However, the road restoration work has not been carried out properly even after the completion of the sewerage work. As a result, locals are grappling with dust and mud problems. In many places, the roads remain wide open with trenches, and when it rains, mud and sludge spread everywhere, causing inconvenience to residents. In some areas, the road surfaces have been completely destroyed, and as vehicles pass by, dust spreads into the air, leading to respiratory issues.
Locals have lodged multiple complaints with the municipal corporation regarding this issue, but no concrete action has been taken yet. Speaking on the matter, officials from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) said, "Restoration work related to the roads post-sewerage work is underway. In some areas, the work is delayed due to rain and other reasons." However, locals are not willing to accept these reasons. They are demanding immediate road restoration and cleaning work.
