India Meteorological Department (IMD) ne announce kiya hai ki southwest monsoon Kerala mein June 4 tak pahunch jayega, jisse state mein monsoon season start ho jayega. Usually, monsoon Kerala mein June 1 ke aas-paas aata hai, lekin is baar thoda der se arrival ho raha hai. IMD ne pehle May 26 ko monsoon arrival ka forecast diya tha, par thoda delay hone ke baad May 29 ko revised forecast mein kaha tha ki monsoon next week mein aa sakta hai.
IMD ke according, June 4 ke aas-paas southwest monsoon ka advance hoga southwest aur southeast Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep Islands, Kerala ke kuch hisson aur Tamil Nadu mein. Iske saath hi southwest, west-central, east-central, northeast Bay of Bengal aur southeast Bay of Bengal ke baki hisson mein bhi monsoon ka advance hoga. IMD ne Kerala mein June 2 se 6 ke beech mein widespread rainfall ka forecast diya hai, jismein lightning aur strong winds bhi honge, jo 40 kmph se 50 kmph ki speed tak ho sakte hain.
