Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, known for her roles in films like *Assi*, has recently spoken out against society’s unhealthy fixation on achieving a perfectly flat stomach. In a heartfelt Instagram Story post on Sunday, she shared her personal journey with body image and the pressures women often face in pursuit of unrealistic beauty standards.
Reflecting on her own experiences, Taapsee revealed that she once pushed herself to extreme limits in an attempt to eliminate lower belly fat. She admitted to having an "obsession" with achieving a flat midriff, a preoccupation she traced back to her younger years. Despite being physically fit, she struggled to understand why lower belly fat persisted. "I remember I had this obsession because while growing up I was extremely fit but I never understood why the lower belly fat always stayed," she shared. Her intense workouts, she admitted, led to over-exertion, triggering a protective response in her body. "Over pushing rings an alarm in your brain that your body needs protection," she explained. Instead of losing water retention, her body began retaining more, leading to an increase in lower belly fat—a cycle she now believes people should avoid.
