The Times of India (TOI) has been honoured with four prestigious ABBY Awards at the 57th edition of the festival, held in Panaji, Goa, from May 20 to May 22, 2024. The recognition underscores TOI’s commitment to purpose-driven journalism and innovative print storytelling in a fast-changing media environment. With over 4,000 entries received from more than 300 organisations across creative, media, and publishing sectors, the awards ceremony celebrated excellence in advertising and brand communication.
TOI’s award-winning campaign ‘Systematic Intelligence Plan’ (SIP) won the Gold in the Print: Corporate, Media, Entertainment & Others category. The campaign creatively leveraged the widely known financial term SIP—Systematic Investment Plan—to position daily newspaper reading as a disciplined investment in sharper thinking and informed decision-making. Through compelling print creatives and visual metaphors, the initiative addressed contemporary issues such as doomscrolling, misinformation, and echo chambers, advocating for mindful media consumption over passive scrolling. The campaign resonated strongly with younger audiences by framing reading as an active, enriching habit rather than passive consumption.
