ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಗಣಿತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಫೆಡರೇಷನ್ (ಟಿಜಿಎಫ್ಐ)organized its annual convention recently, marking the formal conclusion of its three-day event in Bengaluru. The closing ceremony witnessed Dr. Ruchi from Udaipur taking over as the new president of the federation, succeeding the previous leadership. Dr. Ruchi, who has been actively involved in mathematics education and teacher training initiatives, formally assumed charge during the valedictory session held on the final day.
The convention, held at a city-based venue, brought together hundreds of mathematics educators, school teachers, and academicians from across Karnataka and other states. Several academic sessions, workshops, and interactive discussions were organized, focusing on modern teaching methodologies, curriculum reforms, and the integration of technology in mathematics education. Delegates also deliberated on challenges faced by teachers in rural areas and strategies to enhance student engagement in the subject.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ruchi emphasized the importance of fostering a research-oriented approach among teachers and strengthening teacher networks across the state. She highlighted the need for continuous professional development and called for greater collaboration between schools, colleges, and educational bodies to improve learning outcomes. Her appointment marks a significant milestone as she becomes the first woman president from outside Karnataka in the federation’s history.
