Hyderabad, June 13: In a joint operation conducted by the Telangana Police and the Intelligence Bureau, a 22-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh was arrested in Medchal-Malkajgiri district on charges of having connections with Pakistan-based extremist organisations. The accused, identified as Mohammed Wasim, was reportedly involved in propagating extremist ideologies and facilitating communication between local operatives and handlers based in Pakistan.
According to police sources, Wasim was actively engaged in radicalising youth through online platforms and was under surveillance for several months. His arrest was made following the seizure of incriminating digital evidence, including encrypted messages and propaganda material. The police stated that Wasim had confessed to receiving financial support and operational guidance from Pakistan-based handlers.
