The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted the Civil Services Examination (CSE) Prelims 2026 today, with more than 8 lakh candidates appearing across the country. The exam was held in two offline shifts: General Studies Paper-I in the morning session and Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) Paper-II in the afternoon session. Candidates were required to carry printed e-admit cards along with a valid photo ID for verification at the examination centres.
The General Studies Paper-I, held from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, tested candidates on subjects including history, geography, polity, economy, environment, science, and current affairs. Following a break, the CSAT Paper-II was conducted from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, assessing comprehension, logical reasoning, decision-making, and basic numeracy skills. Both papers were conducted in pen-and-paper mode at designated centres across India.
