With the new academic year set to commence in a matter of days, the Local Self Government Department (LSGD) in Kerala has issued a fresh circular aimed at resolving growing uncertainties surrounding school fitness inspections. The directive, issued by the LSGD Principal Directorate, instructs superintending engineers across the South, North, and Corporation divisions, as well as district panchayat executive engineers, to conduct these inspections strictly in accordance with a checklist provided by the General Education Department. The move comes as authorities seek to streamline the process and ensure that all safety protocols are rigorously followed before schools reopen.
