The CBI has arrested two more accused in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case. The arrested accused include Dr. Manoj Shirure, a doctor from Latur. According to the CBI, Dr. Shirure played a crucial role in providing the leaked chemistry paper to three students, including the son of a coaching center operator. The investigation revealed that the paper was obtained from accused P. V. Kulkarni. The second arrested accused is Tejas Harshadkumar Shah. Tejas is a physics faculty member at Dr. Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy (APMA) in Pune. It is alleged that he obtained the leaked physics questions of NEET-UG 2026 from arrested accused Manisha Hawaldar. Manisha Hawaldar has been sent to six days of CBI custody by the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi and will remain in custody until May 30. The investigating agency has alleged that Manisha leaked the physics paper and circulated it to people. The CBI has sought Manisha's remand to confront her with co-accused and identify other individuals involved in the case. The Supreme Court heard the NEET paper leak case on Tuesday and scolded the NTA, also issuing notices to the center and the CBI. The court stated that it is unfortunate that the agency has not learned from the past. The court has sought a response from the central government, NTA, and CBI in the matter, with the next hearing scheduled for May 29. The NEET UG re-exam will be held on June 21, 2026. To ensure that candidates do not face any difficulties in reaching the exam center, several states, including Bihar, Punjab, and Haryana, have announced free travel facilities on government buses. It is worth noting that the NEET UG exam was canceled on May 3 and will now be held again on June 21. A total of 22 lakh candidates will appear for the re-exam.
