Tamil Nadu’s political landscape is once again in flux. K. Annamalai, the former state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is reportedly preparing to launch a new political party. Sources indicate that he is currently in Delhi, holding meetings with top BJP leaders, and may make a public announcement on the matter within the next two days. Earlier, speaking to reporters at the airport, he had stated that he would reveal everything on the subject in two days.
Annamalai’s political journey has been marked by ups and downs. He left the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 2019 to enter politics, earning the nickname "Singham" for his tough policing style. He served in Karnataka’s Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, and Bengaluru South, where his work was widely appreciated. He joined the BJP in 2020 and quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the state president of Tamil Nadu BJP in 2021—a position he held until April 2025.
