The festival of Holi began with Holika Dahan, marked by religious and cultural fervour across the country. A special aarti was performed at the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Priests in Ujjain stated that this year, special prayers were conducted during Holika Dahan, keeping in mind the glory of Lord Shiva. Devotees sought blessings after having darshan of Lord Shiva.
In Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav lit the Holi fire. He performed Holika Dahan with local residents and extended greetings to the people. The Chief Minister said that the festival of Holi symbolises brotherhood and joy in our society. He urged people to maintain harmony. Meanwhile, the state government also organised various programmes related to Holi.
