The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for continued thunderstorms and rain in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and several other states. According to the weather department, these regions may experience a spell of storms and rain over the next 2-3 days, which could disrupt daily life. The IMD has advised people to stay alert and seek shelter in safe places. Additionally, there is a risk of lightning strikes, falling trees, and disruptions in road transport due to strong winds and rain.
On the other hand, Bihar is set to get relief from the severe heatwave (loo) that has gripped the state for the past few days. Temperatures had been consistently above 40°C, but a change in weather is now expected. The IMD predicts light rain and cloudy skies in the coming days, which could provide respite from the scorching heat. There is also good news regarding the monsoon. With the southwest monsoon making its arrival on the Kerala coast, it is expected to progress further into other parts of the country. This could bring relief to farmers and water resources.
