Amritsar, Punjab – A tragic case of alleged institutional harassment has emerged after a 17-year-old Class 12 student died by suicide, reportedly due to severe mental torture by her school management over pending fees. The incident has sparked outrage and led to a full-scale police investigation.
According to Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, a formal case has been registered following the viral video statement recorded by the victim from her hospital bed. The student, identified as Amjot Kaur, was 17 years old and was living with her maternal aunt while pursuing her studies in Amritsar. She consumed a poisonous substance on May 22 and passed away during treatment on the night of May 25.
