With Bakrid set to be celebrated on July 17, the Mumbai Police have swung into action, implementing stringent security measures across the city. Approximately 10,000 personnel have been deployed at various locations to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents.
Speaking to the media, Mumbai Police Commissioner Rajneesh Seth assured that the department is fully prepared to maintain public order and peace during the festival. “We have increased police presence at major markets, mosques, and public places. Special teams have been formed to immediately control any untoward situation,” he stated.
District police officers have also coordinated with local communities to raise awareness about safety protocols. To further bolster security, drone cameras are being used to monitor potential risks, and surveillance has been intensified across all key areas.
A police spokesperson highlighted the importance of traffic management during the festive days. “Special teams have been deployed to regulate the movement of public and private vehicles. Additionally, checkpoints have been set up to detect explosives and other hazardous materials,” the spokesperson said.
