A fresh controversy has erupted in Mumbai’s education sector. Various schools in the city have turned down a hybrid learning model proposed by bus operators, citing the persistent rise in fuel costs. The proposal was put forward to address challenges in operating school buses amid escalating traffic issues and soaring fuel prices. However, school administrations have declined to accept it.
According to local media reports, several private and government schools in Mumbai had engaged with their bus operators, who suggested adopting a hybrid learning model. Under this model, offline classes would be held on certain days, while online education would be conducted on others. The primary goal was to reduce fuel consumption and curb the operators’ rising expenses. Despite this, schools have rejected the proposal, leaving both bus operators and parents frustrated.
