Panchayati Raj employees in Rajasthan have decided to launch a major agitation against the state government. Starting June 1, the protest has been named the ‘Save Dignity Movement’. Since the government is not taking their demands seriously, the employees will stage a ‘Mahajal Samadhi’ (symbolic drowning) at Jaipur’s iconic Jal Mahal. The agitation is being organised by Panchayati Raj workers across districts of the state.
Key demands include a salary hike, improved service conditions and better pension benefits. Employees allege that their long-standing grievances have been ignored. Through this movement, they aim to pressure the government into addressing their demands promptly.
