Record procurement of Rabi and Kharif crops in Uttar Pradesh under Yogi government: 51.70 lakh farmers benefited

Under the guidance of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government has established a robust safety net for farmers and underprivileged families through the Food and Civil Supplies Department. Over the Rabi marketing seasons from 2017-18 to 2025-26, the state conducted extensive procurement of wheat. During this period, a total of 51,70,117 farmers benefited, receiving payments amounting to ₹45,935.46 crore. To ensure smooth wheat procurement, 5,837 wheat purchase centres were opened, making it easier for farmers to sell their produce.
Additionally, a significant record was set in paddy procurement. Through the paddy procurement drive from 2017-18 to 2025-26, 80,39,539 farmers were benefited, with payments of ₹1,03,694.71 crore made to them. The Yogi government did not limit itself to wheat and paddy but also promoted the procurement of other crops. The proactive functioning of the Food and Civil Supplies Department has further strengthened farmers' trust in the state government.
