THRISSUR, June 1 – For nearly two decades, the Catholic faithful of St. Alphonsa’s Church in Vallakkunnu, near Irinjalakuda in Thrissur district, had relied on distant parish cemeteries to bury their loved ones. But on May 25, their long-standing dream became a reality when the parish inaugurated Kerala’s first two-storey covered cemetery, a modern two-storey structure with 388 burial cells, built entirely on their own land.
